Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy - Decision

To approve the Bracknell Forest Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy, which has been written to meet the new statutory Duty under Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, to identify and address the need for accommodation-based support for domestic abuse victims. Part 4 of the Act requires Tier One Local Authorities to publish a draft strategy by 26 October 2021 and a final strategy by 5 January 2022.

The Local Domestic Abuse Executive Board and Forum will have been actively and regularly engaged in the development of the Strategy. Full public consultation is not required under the Act.

Financial Impact: The local authority has been awarded £200k grant funding from MHCLG for 2021/22 to give effect to the strategy, with proposals to be developed for commissioning support services in line with the Strategy and requirements of the Act.
