The unfolding climate and environmental crisis is the most
serious threat human civilisation has ever faced. The evidence is
now unequivocal. The recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change (IPCC) report R15 sets goals for reducing carbon emissions
in order to prevent catastrophic climate warming. AND, the
Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and
Ecosystem Services (IPBES), is stark in its global assessment: One
million species already face extinction. Current trajectories are
inadequate.
