To agree the Public Protection Partnership MK
II Business Plan following the exit of Wokingham Borough Council
from the partnership.
RECOMMENDED that the Executive Member for Culture, Delivery and Public Protection:
i. agrees the suggested priorities for the service for 22/23.
ii. agrees to the proposed contractual position with Wokingham Council in order to protect existing PPP services.
i. The current partnership provides public protection services for three Boroughs. Bracknell Forest, Wokingham, and West Berkshire. Wokingham have given notice to leave the partnership at the end of the financial year 21/22 and as such a bi-borough service will be provided between Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire. It is therefore important that a new PPP service is commenced from 22/23 with revised priorities for the remaining two Authorities.
ii. Should agreement not be reached on a contractual relationship with Wokingham cost would be needed in order to retain the levels of service currently provided by the PPP. The greater risk though, would come from the remaining partners not having mitigated costs for all parties where it is reasonable that they could have done.
