Purpose:
For the procurement of the work contract to create two new childrens centres
Decision:
That the Executive Member for Children, Young People & Learning and the Executive Director: People, approve the Procurement Plan to commence the tender process for the construction works to create two new nurseries, one at Sandhurst School and one at Rowan Children’s Centre.
Reasons for the decision:
It is a requirement of the Contract Standing orders that the Director and Executive Member approve any Procurement Plan with a value in excess of £400,000. This decision seeks approval for the procurement process.
During February 2019 the Executive approved the business case for the implementation of two new nurseries and the application for capital funding.
Alternative options considered:
None, as it is a requirement of the Contract Standing orders that any contracts in excess of £400,000 are required to go out to a formal tendering process to ensure value for money and compliance with legislation.
