Purpose:
To seek approval of a support package for
Everyone Active
Decision:
1 Consideration be given to further financial support for Everyone Active if required for the period from quarter 2 of 2021/22 dependant on usage and based on actuals through the quarter, with any decision to be taken at the end of the quarter.
2 This principle for support be applied to the rest of the financial year 2021/22
Reasons for the decision:
The Executive had previously agreed three financial support packages for EA in April and July 2020 and March 2021. When the latter package was approved, it had been agreed that any further requests for financial support would be bought to the Executive for a further decision. The approach approved would enable the Council to determine the extent of support which may be required depending upon actual income.
Alternative options considered:
Not to support EA’s cashflow position if it were to be required.
To stop providing leisure services in the Borough, recognising these are not statutory services, although they are popular local facilities with over 1 million visitors in 2019/20.
