Speed Camera and Give Way Sign, Berkshire Way (A329), Jennett’s Park Roundabout

We the undersigned petition the council to 1. Install a speed camera on Berkshire Way (A329), covering as a minimum, the stretch of road from Coppid Beech Roundabout to Jennett’s Park Roundabout, travelling towards Bracknell. 2. Erect a ‘Give Way’ sign on the entry to Jennett’s Park Roundabout from Berkshire Way (A329) travelling in the direction of Bracknell.

Statistics gathered from https://www.crashmap.co.uk/ indicate the substantial dangers of this road. As of Wednesday, 19 August 2020, since 2015, there have been 12 accidents (4 of them ‘serious’) involving 28 vehicles and 16 casualties.

It is very difficult sometimes to join Berkshire Way from the slip road leading from the Coppid Beech Roundabout. Drivers frequently exceed the limit on this road. A speed camera would have a calming effect on the traffic and allow drivers to join the A329 more safely.

A number of times, drivers have also failed to give way on Jennett’s Park Roundabout, sometimes pulling directly in front of traffic on the roundabout. A ‘Give Way’ road sign approaching the roundabout would reduce the risk of collision.
