Minutes:

At the commencement of the meeting, Councillor Bettison announced that as he had transferred responsibility for Bracknell town centre regeneration to the new portfolio of Economic Development and Regeneration, he was proposing that Councillor Brunel-Walker should henceforth also chair meetings of this Committee:

 

RESOLVED that

 

1          Councillor Brunel-Walker be appointed Chairman of the Committee; and,

 

2          Councillor Mrs Ballin be re-elected Vice-Chairman of the Committee

Members are required to declare any personal or prejudicial interests in relation to items on the agenda.

To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 19 March 2012.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 19 March 2012 be approved and signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

To consider the following motion:

 

That pursuant to Regulation 21 of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Access to Information) Regulations 2000, members of the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the consideration of item 6 which involves the likely disclosure of exempt information under the following category of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972:

 

(3)        Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority).

The Executive considered a report containing exempt information on the following item.  The decision taken is detailed in the attached decision sheet and summarised below:

Bracknell Town Centre Regeneration Update

To consider the latest progress report on proposals for the regeneration of Bracknell town centre.

Minutes:

RESOLVED that:

 

1          The approach to the regeneration of Bracknell town centre, including the existing development agreement, be endorsed.

 

2          Authority be delegated to the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, to complete the Town Centre Development Agreement.

 

3          The Head of Terms for Stanley Walk as set out in Annex A of the Assistant Chief Executive’s report be approved.

 

4          The Executive be recommended to recycle the funding achieved from the sale of Jubilee Gardens back into the Stanley Walk proposals or other town centre regeneration initiatives.

 

5          The outline submission to the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership for Growing Places funding be noted and the Council progress to the second round of applications, should the outline bid be successful.

 

6          The funding from the Government’s High Street Innovation Fund be allocated to initiatives proposed by the Bracknell Town Centre Partnership, subject to the Council’s overall approval.
