To grant planning permission under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) for the erection of a decorative hoarding.
Planning permission granted for the erection
of decorative hoarding along the boundary of the Royal British
Legion site and Braccan walk for a temporary period of 3 years, or
until the occupation of the Royal British Legion
The proposed hoarding would be for a temporary
period only, which would be secured by condition. It was not
considered that it would be out of keeping with the character of
the area and the temporary nature of the proposal would ensure that
it would not result in a permanent impact on the site. It was not
considered that the proposal would result in any significant
impacts on highway safety or the Listed Building. The development
was therefore considered to comply with relevant development plan
policy, the Council’s SPDs and the NPPF.
The development was considered to comply with
the development plan and with national planning policy therefore no
alternative options were considered. The comments made by local
residents were considered and, where appropriate, were addressed in
the Officer’s report.
