Improvements to Farley Wood Community Centre

Decision Maker: Executive Member for Culture, Resources and Public Protection

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To commit £8,460.76 of S106 funds to improve the capacity of the Farley Wood Community Centre

Decision:

That approval is given for expenditure of £8,460.76 of Section 106 social and community facilities contributions on improvements to the Farley Wood Community Centre.

Reasons for the decision:

Farley Wood Community Association would like to install a new type of flooring that is more suitable for physical activities in the small hall and improve the sound proofing between it and the main hall so that more groups can make use of the space.

This project will directly support three of the Councils strategic objectives,

People live active and healthy lifestyles

A clean, green, growing and sustainable place

Strong, safe, supportive and self-reliant communities

Alternative options considered:

None. To not make improvements to the small hall floor and the soundproofing between it and the main hall will mean that many groups will continue to not be able to make use of the small hall.
