Purpose:
The Executive Member is asked to approve the
Procurement Plan for Housing Related Support for young single
homeless people.
Decision:
That the Executive Member approved the proposal to tender a remodelled service for accommodation based housing related support service and that the successful bidder provides 75 units. This service will be for 18 – 25 year olds in the borough with eligible support needs, at risk of homelessness including Care Leavers.
Reasons for the decision:
The existing service will cease on 31 August 2017. We have remodelled the service to meet the housing related support need for young people threatened with homelessness and a pathway for the provision of care leavers.
Alternative options considered:
To not proceed with this remodelled service would result in increased costs to secure residential placements for care leavers therefore this would be the only alternative option.
