The Council is committed to reviewing its performance on implementing its Equality Scheme annually. This impact report highlights and reviews progress made implementing the second year of the scheme during 2013-14.
The Council has a duty to advance equality of opportunity, eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation and foster good relations between people. Therefore no alternative options have been considered.

The Equality Scheme itself had extensive
public consultation. The development of the Action Plan involved
the Council's service managers, senior managers, and Corporate
Management Team. The Council's Equality Group and the Partnership
Equality Group including Thames Valley Police, Bracknell Forest
Voluntary Action, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS),
Bracknell Forest Homes and Sandhurst Town Council.
