To award a one year extension to the Ringway Infrastructure Services (RIS) contract

Decision Maker: Executive Director: Place, Planning & Regeneration

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

The contract with RIS for highway and street lighting maintenance allows for rolling one year extensions to the original 7 year contract subject to satisfactory performance.

The Director: Place, Planning and Regeneration received an annual report from RIS regarding the sixth year of operation and additionally a report from the Head of Highways and Transport regarding the contractors performance from a client perspective.

Both reports highlighted strong performance from RIS in delivering the services required of them in the sixth year of operation. Critically, RIS met or exceeded all of the strategic indicators contained within the contract requiring that a one year extension be awarded.

Reasons for the decision:

Subject to meeting the strategic key performance indicators contained within the highway and street lighting maintenance contract with RIS the Council is required to grant a one year extension to the contract.

Alternative options considered:

None, the contract requires a one year extension to be awarded subject to satisfactory performance.
