contract for the demolition of Easthampstead House.
Decision:
That the Executive Member for Transformation & Finance approves the decision not to award a contract for the demolition of Easthampstead House.
Reasons for the decision:
The retention of Easthampstead House for a “meanwhile use” is now being pursued enabling the use of the site for new start up businesses. Therefore the demolition of Easthampstead House is no longer required in the immediate future.
Alternative options considered:
In anticipation of the final move of the Council to Time Square and the closure of Easthampstead House as a Council office in April 2018, a tender process was undertaken for the work of demolition. Seven tenders were received in February 2018. However, these are no longer binding on the bidders.
