Purpose:
To award the Contract for Library Self Service and Technology Assisted Opening.
Decision:
That the contract for self-service kiosks and technology assisted opening in Bracknell Forest libraries be awarded to Tenderer X.
Reasons for the decision:
Although Tenderer X costs were not the cheapest quote, the quality of their kiosks, security gates and handheld scanners far exceeded the lowest price quote. In particular the kiosks were missing key functionality such as the ability to cancel reservations and clear customer instructions that impact the customer experience.
Alternative options considered:
Alternative options were considered as part of the transformation review of the library service. The technology solution was the option approved by Council.
