To approve the Bracknell Forest Domestic Abuse
Safe Accommodation Strategy, which has been written to meet the new
statutory Duty under Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, to
identify and address the need for accommodation-based support for
domestic abuse victims. Part 4 of the Act requires Tier One Local
Authorities to publish a draft strategy by 26 October 2021 and a
final strategy by 5 January 2022.
That:
1 Publication of the Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy 2021-2024 be approved.
2 The funding priorities set out in the strategy which will inform the commissioning of support services for domestic abuse be approved.
Approval for the strategy is required in order to meet the statutory requirement to publish a final version of the strategy before 5 January 2022.

Financial Impact: The local authority has been awarded £200k grant funding from MHCLG for 2021/22 to give effect to the strategy, with proposals to be developed for commissioning support services in line with the Strategy and requirements of the Act.
